Awarded the Green Advocate of the Year 2010 and the Green Remodel Project of the Year 2010 by the National Association of Home Builders, Philip Beere is a champion of sustainable development, and is proud to walk the walk and talk the talk.

Upon graduating from University of California, Santa Barbara in 1990, Beere owned and operated an organic Asian restaurant in Portland, OR. In 2001, Beere relocated to Phoenix, AZ and founded EcoFresh.

While enrolled in the Masters of Real Estate Development program at Arizona State University, Beere launched Green Street Development in 2006. In February 2010, Green Street was featured twice on the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric.

Green Street Development completed the second LEED Gold certified single family remodel in The United States; it serves as the company’s prototype for redevelopment of the urban core and retrofitting structures to green certification. In 2009, Beere completed the first NAHB Emerald certified remodel in the United States.

Beere’s outreach and education for making existing buildings better, includes consulting and presenting for Arizona State University, Greenbuild 2009, the International Builders Show 2010, NAHB Green Conference 2010, American Institute of Architects, American Society of Interior Designers, Arizona Building Officials, YouthBuild, Job Corps, and The State of Arizona Housing Department.
